The Club was established in 1987 to meet the needs of poultry enthusiasts in Norfolk and surrounding counties, with 2017 being our 30th Anniversary year.  Its aim is to help promote and maintain the many pure breeds of poultry and waterfowl, and to provide advice and information to all members and the public.

Monthly meetings are held for members and those wishing to join on the evening on the first Monday of each month (except when clashing with a Bank Holiday) at 7.30pm for an 8pm  start in Scarning Village Hall, Scarning, Dereham, NR19 2PF.  Newsletters, membership cards and this website give details of the programme of events, which include guest speakers, slide shows, outside visits and evening shows of eggs and poultry.

We hold two open shows at Yaxham Village Hall each year open to both members and non members, although membership does mean a reduction in entry fees for both poultry and eggs, a chance to win and take the silverware home for a year as well as qualify for the annual points trophies. Our shows are usually held in March and October, although this can change due to clashing with other clubs and bird flu but we aim to keep everyone updated via this site and our Facebook page.  The Poultry Club of Great Britain and Breed Club Regional events are included in these shows and the club has many trophies to be won, in addition to rosettes and prize cards. The shows have free admission to the public and usually have around 30-40 different breeds of poultry , waterfowl and turkeys on display.

Membership runs from 1st March to 28th February each year. If you join after 1st  January, your  membership will run until 28th February  the following year. More details and a link to a printable form can be found under the membership tab at the top of this page.

We look forward to welcoming you to our club and becoming part of a fantastic group of poultry enthusiasts!
