The Club was established in 1987 to meet the needs of poultry enthusiasts in Norfolk and surrounding counties. Its aim is to help promote and maintain the many breeds of poultry and waterfowl, and to provide advice and information to all members and the public. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7.30pm for 8pm in Scarning Village Hall, Scarning, Dereham, NR19 2PF. Newsletters and membership cards give details of the programme of events, including guest speakers, slide shows, outside visits and evening shows of eggs and poultry.
We hold two open shows at the Norfolk showground each year, usually in March and October. Members are entitled to reduced entry fees to these shows. The Poultry Club of Great Britain and Breed Club Regional events are included in these shows and the club has many trophies to be won, in addition to rosettes and prize cards. The shows have free admission to the public and usually have around 30-40 different breeds of poultry , waterfowl and turkeys on display.
In addition to the shows, the club also attends events throughout Norfolk and you will find the club stand at the following events: The Spring Fling and the East Anglian Game and Country Fair held on the Norfolk showground, and the Aylsham Country Show. Please come and find us and see some of the many pure breeds on display. There will be a team of Norfolk Poultry Club members on the stand, and we will do our very best to answer any questions on the day.
Membership (please click for the form) runs from 1st April to 31st March each year. If you join after 1st January, your membership will run until 31st March the following year.
